Tour Plan :

Day 1: Fes – Atlas Mountains – Sahara Desert Overnight

Your Fes Desert Trip begins with a 7:00 a.m. pick-up from your hotel or riad, heading into the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop is Ifrane, known as Morocco’s “Little Switzerland” for its Alpine-style architecture and winter snow, with the nearby Michliffen ski resort adding to its charm.

Next, explore the cedar forests around Azrou, home to the famous Barbary macaques, who may playfully interact with visitors. Continue south through the scenic Atlas Mountains, passing forested peaks, winding streams, and dramatic rock formations, before reaching Rissani, an important town at the edge of the Sahara.

Travel further south to the Erg Chebbi dunes, where massive golden sands rise up to 50 meters. Enjoy a 90-minute camel trek at sunset, and arrive at a traditional Berber desert camp. Savor a delicious dinner, listen to traditional Berber music, and spend the night in a comfortable tent beneath a sky blanketed with stars.

Day 2: Sahara Desert – Todra Gorge – Ouarzazate

Wake early to watch the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, then ride your camel back to the hotel for breakfast, observing how the morning light transforms the desert landscape.

Your journey continues toward Ouarzazate, passing through the Todgha Gorges, a canyon carved 300 meters deep into the High Atlas Mountains. Explore the area around Tinghir, with its dramatic cliffs and narrow gorge, considered one of Morocco’s most stunning natural landscapes.

Next, stop in Kelaat M’Gouna, the “Rose City,” famous for its annual Rose Festival and fragrant rose products. Continue through the Skoura oasis, with its lush palm groves and spectacular Atlas Mountain views, before arriving in Ouarzazate for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 3: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, explore Ouarzazate’s film studios, often called Africa’s Hollywood, where you can see props and memorabilia from films like Gladiator, The Mummy, Indiana Jones, and Game of Thrones. Then, visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, an iconic mud-brick fortress that has appeared in many famous films.

Continue your journey through the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka Pass, Morocco’s highest mountain pass at over 2,250 meters, with breathtaking views, picturesque Berber villages, and waterfalls along the way.

Arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon or evening, where your driver will drop you off at your hotel or riad, marking the end of your unforgettable 3-day Fes to Marrakech via the Sahara Desert tour.
